The newest side in the AFL kick off their NAB Cup campaign against the Pies and the Dogs tomorrow night, but today they released their theme song. It is currently getting mixed reviews around the media. Personally I think its alright. I am no expert in international music but at first I thought it had […]
(Note: Updates at end of article) Its the first of February and apart from AFL Dreamteam and SuperCoach opening (and first episode of the Coaches Box Podcast for the year), it is also is meant to see the announcement of the deal for what xBox and Telstra T-Box owners can expect to see in way […]
I reported in the past about the coming FoxFooty channel and their increasing marketing including their use of Buddy Franklin’s great goal verse the Bombers in an ad for it. But now I have been informed by a representative of Foxtel that the Foxtel on Xbox and T-Box that we believed where getting the FoxFooty channel […]
In the final edition of the Power Rankings for 2011, I’m grading the season of each club plus picking their All-Australian contenders (a bit hard in some cases!). I have put together my All-Australian Team for this season – a difficult process at the best of times – so don’t be too tough on me […]
In this week’s Power Rankings, I’ve decided to look closely at the “wheeling & dealing” of Trade week (one of my favourite weeks on the footy calendar!). Specifically, what player has been the best pick-up by your club? I’m focusing on Season 2000 up to present day, as anything prior is essentially irrelevant to the […]
Following the excitement of last week’s hypothetical “Equalisation Draft”, we’re back to a more traditional format this round – with a look at the most recent form of the AFL’s finals contenders. Plus, more random statistics than even Bruce McAvaney would know what to do with! So let’s get straig . Collingwood 1 <NO CHANGE> . A business-like performance, but would Mick Malthouse be happy with the Pies being unable to out-score the Suns in the second half? I'd think not, but they still managed a 54-point win against the new boys. The Pies are travelling very well, on top of the ladder. […]
What would happen if the AFL, in a once-off ”Equalisation Draft”, allowed each club to acquire the services of another player in the competition? In a mouth-watering (yet cruel) exercise, this week I’ve taken the liberty of drafting a player to every AFL club – from a rival team – to help bolster their stocks. Who would you choose for your club?
How does your club fare against the teams placed higher on the ladder? What about versus the teams below them?
This week in addition to the usual Power Rankings, I’m taking a good look at each clubs performances against the best and the worst in the AFL.
Bit of a change this week, as I’ll be pouring over the playing list of each club to identify the players that I expect to be the most important to each team over the next 5 years. Who is your clubs “go to” player going forward? Read on to find out.
