Have to say Steve that I somewhat agree with you. In fact I sort of think the Lovett-Murray incident was worst. But this is why we have the system we have. If the player/club feels like it wasn't bad enough for a report, grow some cods and take it to the tribunal. (Note: About to put up "The Verdict" video with MRP head man, Mark Fraser. He explains why one was reportable and other wasn't but I still think that the LM one was as bad or worst).

Report of Taylor Walker a joke - not a sling tackle. No report from the umpire or free kick so on-filed adjudication was that the tackle was fine. MRP created to stop behing the play incidents and not to take the place of after game umpiring. Stop sanitizing the game or soon we will have players outfitted like Grid Iron with TV replays every 2 minutes for referees.

[...] The other big question this week, after the events last week, is the value of these named teams today and Friday? Teams are making late changes again left, right and center and one took it to a new level last week. St Kilda, as reported last week, pick Justin Koschitzke as an emergency last week with every man and his dog knowing there was no way the Saints wouldn’t play him against a Hawthorn side that is known to be stretchable in the back end. Surprise, Surprise, Kosi did play of Saturday night but the Saints took it further! They in fact played all their emergencies (Kosi, Dean Polo and Ahmed Saad). Ben McEnvoy was reported out for 4-6 weeks with a knee injury he got at training. Now, to my knowledge no teams train on the day of the game so its fair to say that the Saints knew before Saturday that McEnvoy wouldn’t play apart in the match. But no mention of this was made. Teams have no respect for the fans when it comes to naming their teams. I’m waiting for the team that just goes with a massive change to the team. I mean like 10+! If there are no rules against it, why not, right? AFL needs to act! [...]

Thanks so much for this website and everything you do. I am a long time (35 years) fan of the AFL living in the US. Since the demise of Setanta Sports, then the fallout with ESPN I have been left with no source for watching complete games that does not cost a premium. At least with your website I can watch the highlights and keep up with the league. Not like watching an entire game, but still better than nothing.

Thanks again!

Hi Emma,
I am sorry to hear that but thank you for sharing. I questioned if I was taking it too far but thought I wasn't. Also I am waiting for the people that got deals that were for 6 months at a special price to go to the full price. It also might be the conspiracy theorist in me but I will be interested to see if there is a price rise for next year (i.e. Bait and switch type move).

Hi Phillip,
I have recently signed up to Foxtel with the sports supporter package. I totally agree that it's deceptive marketing to say you can watch all games live and in HD for $50 per month. I was made aware of the $150 extra installation fee and was prepared to pay that for access to the HD channels, but at no point in my initial phone conversation to sign up was it mentioned it was an extra $10 per month for HD and an extra $10 for IQ. So I was surprised to get my bill for $70 per month.
We love our footy in HD (and the ability to record it) and will probably keep it and pay the extra, but I did raise the deceptive marketing with a subsequent foxtel representative to see if I could get the HD included for free, (of course not). Sadly I don't have the marketing material any more to check and see exactly what it said, otherwise I'd have taken it further.
