AFL Teams – Round 19, 2012 – Buddy Heck! No Franklin still?

Its been 3 weeks since that fateful game when the Hawks played the Giants. Who would have thought that this game would have been so important to the season, possibly if the Hawks lose this week! The Hawks recorded the biggest win of the season, 162 points but in the same game the Coleman leader (both then and still now) hurt his hamstring. It was expected to be about a three week hammy, but the three weeks are up but Alastair Clarkson this morning announced that he would miss. He didn’t train with the main group today, but the AFLSPACE can report exclusively (take that Herald Sun) that we was doing running training at 9am with rookie Alex Woodward on the outer wing of the Ricoh center and showed no sign of issue.

That’s not the only issue the Hawks have. In the same press conference AC brought up the point that with this being the first time that the Hawks have had three healthy, capable ruckman to choose from (in Hale, Roughead and Bailey) that they might play all three at some point and the point might be today. Its hard to know who could possibly miss out, but I would think (much to my sons disappointment) that Shane Savage could be the one to make way for Hale to come back.

The Hawks opponent this week, Geelong, also have some decisions to make. Will they play SteveJ after he was knocked out at the first bounce of their round 18 game against Adelaide by Scott Thompson who wasn’t charged for it. Chris Scott has flagged the return of  the jPod to try to stretch the Hawks defense.

Teams will be out at about 6:25pm Thursday night and will update over the course of the weekend.
