AFL Match Review Panel – Round 6, 2012 – WoJo! VFL report?

AFL Match Review Panel/Tribunal News – Round 6, 2012

Match Review Panel FindingsThere was plenty of action at the AFL Match Review Panel this week (even if I’m a bit late in reporting it) with bumps and slides just to name a couple of issues, but arguably the biggest tribunal news is in the VFL! After the Demons affiliated Casey Scorpions played the Geelong VFL side, there was two big incidents involving two players. One a veteran trying to get back from injury into a very good side. The other a Father-Son prospect that is viturally on loan from school footy that won’t be drafted till the end of this year.

The players, if you lived under a rock, are David Wojcinski of the Cats and Jack Viney, the soon to be Demon. They can together for two incidents. The first incident happened at the ball where the young buck didn’t back down from the old stager and the veteran used a quick jab to the jaw to quieten the young guy. The VFL have all ready offered one match ban for that incident and Wojcinski has accepted that. The other was a hard bump, when he could have tackled that broke the young kids jaw and has been referred directly to the Tribunal. This could easily be 5+ weeks on top of the 1 he already has! To add length to the amount of time missed, there are two VFL byes coming up for the Cats and there is also a state game in there as well. Here is the video of both issues (from the Herald Sun site):
