AFL Teams – Round 6, 2012 – Gary Ablett Roulette!

Its one thing for a player to get an injury and miss games. You wear that, they are human after all. But I get annoyed (as a DreamTeam player) with teams deliberately spreading crap about there players injuries. We have had that this week in the case of Gary Ablett! After initially saying he would be out for two to three weeks and Gary himself saying he hopes to only be out for 1. But then this week we had one assistant coach saying 2-3 weeks, another say 2-4 weeks and then Guy McKenna said he could be back next week! Guys, MAKE UP YOUR MIND!!! I have long said that the AFL should bring out rules on injury reporting, team naming and training reporting (i.e. did Gaz train with main group, did he do rehab training or not train at all).

Looking at the side, not a great list of huge games compared to other weeks, so lets look at possible team changes:

• Jason Porplyzia, who was a late out last week, looks likely to play this week. He will face a fitness test.
• Carlton signaled early they were likely to rest some of there older players for this weeks game with the Giants. Plays inline for a rest are: Judd, Scottland and Waite. Some are suggesting that Murphy and Gibbs aren’t in line but time will tell. Ellard, Bower and Brock McLean are inline for a shot at the seniors.
• Collingwood expect Shaw and Reid to return. Didak has got through 3 VFL games and could come back as well but Thomas will miss another week.
• Courtney Dempsey is inline to return for the Bombers
• Nat Fyfe hurt his shoulder again at training and has now been sent for surgery. Aaron Sandilands gets another week on the side line against the Suns. Lee Spur, after being upgraded last week, could come in this week. Many believe that Kepler Bradley could replace disappointing Jack Anthony
• At my Hawks, who would know who is fit or not! Definitely not getting much out of the injury report. Josh Gibson faces a test to make the side this week after a leg injury forced him into a boot during the week. Grant Birchall is likely to return this week as well. Issac Smith could return to add extra pace.
• Mitch Clark should return this week from his next injury for the Dees
• Question at the Roos is will Todd Goldstein be back after a big day in the VFL
• Jay “I know nothing! Nothinnngg!!!” Schulz and rookie Chad Wingard to miss for the Power. Hitchcock and Brett “Megahead” Ebert are in the Mix to come in after the showdown
• Kosi returns from suspension for the Saints.
• Cousins could come in for the Eagles! No not Benny, but cousins Jacob Brennan and Fraser McInnes could come in. Josh Kennedy the latest injury for the Eagles and Schofield suspended.
