Bombers manfully over came the first half loss of not one player but two when they lost speedsters Jason Winderlich and Courtenay Dempsey to season ending Knee injuries in their draw with the Blues. The Bombers will face the rampant Magpies in the traditional ANZAC day match without them but could see the return of David Hille to stretch the Pies. The problem with that is that its more loss of speed. Adelaide lost to Port but as concerning is there injury list. They hope to get some back but its too long again!
The Dockers have done fairly well to start the year considering the injuries that they have had to start the year. Unfortunately for them they lost young player, Nick Suban to a broken leg will miss around 2 months. This could open the door to DreamTeam/SuperCoach Favorite, Nick Lower. Cross town rival, the Eagles, lost defender Mitch Brown with a thumb injury. He will miss 2 months with that as well.
The new sub rule may have got its first injury victim with Gold Coast Suns Coach Guy McKenna claiming that mature age defender Michael Coad’s hamstring injury was directly caused by having to put him on against their better judgement because they had no one else. Coad didn’t just do a minor hammy but in fact tore it off the bone in a similar way that Nick Riewoldt and Josh Gibson did last year. He must be incourage that those two made great returns but he will miss half the season getting back. This is something, with the suspension of Campbell Brown, that they can hardly afford to lose! Fantasty coaches will need to move him on (unless you did all ready).
Lastly, out of Bulldogs training this morning, there have been question marks over Daniel Giansiracusa and Patrick Veszpremi availablity to play this week. We will wait and see. On to the rest of the list.
