AFL Injury report – Round 3, 2011 – Hayesy days ahead for the Saints

Biggest injury from this weekend has to be the loss of Lenny Hayes from St Kilda. He did his knee in the draw against the Tigers and will miss the rest of the season. David Armitage stepped up on Friday to some what cover the loss but it will be a huge loss and one the Saints need to find an answer for! Beau Waters will be out for around 3 months which is a loss for a team that has performed above what most thought they would. The kids will have to continue to cover.

In better news, Collingwood is  about to get stronger with the return of Captain Nick Maxwell from injury. The bombers will miss ruckman, David Hille for 1 to 2 weeks. Geelong lost Mooney, Selwood and Lonergan on Friday after being named Thursday but only Lonergan is still on the list. Port have lost their skipper, Dom Cassisi,  for two months. Something they can little afford to happen! Lastly, the Dogs are expecting to be boosted by the return of Brian Lake and Lindsay Gilbee for there game with the Suns. Easing them in slowly.

So on to the injury lists. Any big injuries I haven’t mentioned? Is this effecting your DreamTeam/Supercoach side?

Trackbacks

  1. […] But the worst part of the start for the Saints is the loss of spiritual leader, Lenny Hayes, to a season ending knee injury. There is calls in the “market place” (as Ross Lyon would call for it) for the Saints […]
